Raj Guarding Fresh, is looking for a Biochemist, to spearhead innovative research, product development, and regulatory compliance to bring cutting-edge, organic solutions to the market.

Their business is committed to developing eco-friendly, organic solutions that address plant health challenges while extending the shelf life of fruits and vegetables. Through their work, they aim to empower farmers and contribute to the growing movement toward regenerative agriculture.
As part of this mission, we are excited to announce an opportunity to join their team in a groundbreaking role as a Biochemist. This position will lead the research and development of an organic, dual-purpose fungicide designed to support both crop production and post-harvest management.
The Role: Biochemist consultant
The Biochemist role is at the heart of the Raj mission. The successful candidate will:
Conduct innovative research to extract active compounds from natural sources and develop environmentally safe formulations.
Oversee the lifecycle of our products, from concept to production readiness, ensuring the highest standards of quality control.
Collaborate with farmers, agronomists, and other stakeholders to tailor solutions that meet the practical needs of Uganda’s agricultural sector.
Ensure adherence to national and international organic product standards, including securing regulatory approvals.
Deliverables and Impact
In this role, you will play a critical part in achieving measurable milestones, including:
Delivering a certified organic fungicide ready for market within six months.
Establishing standard operating procedures for quality assurance and production.
Supporting farmers with sustainable, effective tools that enhance productivity and reduce post-harvest losses.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced professional with:
A Master’s or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Agricultural Science.
A minimum of three years of experience in biochemical research or agrochemical product development.
Knowledge of organic certification standards and familiarity with Uganda’s agricultural landscape.
Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to driving sustainable solutions.
